The results of the LAC 2008 computer press readership analysis are out. Some 15 publishing houses with 23 publications took part in the survey. This entailed asking in excess of 10,000 persons over a period of three and half months about their reading habits, about their current inventory and intentions to buy with respect to 246 products and services in 23 categories, ranging from IT hardware and software, telecommunications, through to specific segments of consumer electronics.

The LAC 2008 universe was extended compared with previous studies:

The universe now includes 40.9 million persons aged 14 and over, living in households with a landline access and who use a PC at home at least once a week.

Within this universe, LAC 2008 again surveyed its own sample of 7.7 million professional ITC decision-makers. These are defined as employed persons, who are involved in taking decisions within their companies with respect to the purchasing of ITC products and services, either alone or together with others.

The MDS and mediMACH counting programs are available directly from the program providers. Upon request, the publishing houses participating in LAC 2008 will, however, also carry out counting services.
